Toileting Challenges That Won’t Go Away
On Their Own

If your 4-12 year-old is having toileting challenges like daytime or nighttime accidents, refuses to go to the bathroom in certain circumstances or suffers from persistent constipation, it can be frustrating for the entire family. Especially when your pediatrician and urologist assure you there is nothing wrong. Yet your child’s self esteem takes a hit every time they have another accident at school. Or maybe they’re missing out on playdates and birthday parties, because of these challenges. It doesn’t have to be this way. Our pediatric pelvic health physical therapist has non-invasive treatments to help you resolve these issues, once and for all!

Common Pediatric toileting challenges:

Toileting Challenges That Won’t Go Away
On Their Own

  1. Unlike adult pelvic health PT, there is no internal exam or treatment with patients under the age of 18.
  2. We work with the child and the parents to figure out exactly what your specific needs are to help your child with their challenges.
  3. Building strength and coordination: Many kids experiencing toileting challenges have limited strength in their hip, pelvic and core musculature. Your child will learn fun, play-based exercises for optimizing their strength and gaining more control of their movements.
