This is impossible…

Like most of the women in your life (and probably you, too!), my daughter and I made sure to catch the Barbie Movie with some girlfriends. I LOVED this thought-provoking movie!

America Ferrera’s monologue was definitely a highlight.

Her opening line, “It is literally impossible to be a woman” has been in the back of mind ever since I saw the movie.

It’s the crux of her entire monologue and it’s the reason I started our pelvic health program back in 2018.

You may not know this, but our team is on a mission to let you know that pelvic pain and leakage are never normal and you (or the females in your life) don’t have to live with it.

There seems to be an expectation that women should be able to grow a human and bring it into this world without it changing their body forever.

And I’m only talking about physical changes here (the emotional, hormonal and psychological changes are an entirely separate email.) I’m sorry, but this is just not reality.

Same story with menopause and aging. There’s this general expectation that women should age without their bodies changing.

News flash: This is not Barbieland! Here in the “real world,” bodies change.

This is why we have our pelvic health physical therapy program. As the female body changes with pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and aging, some unpleasantries, such as pelvic pain and leakage can occur.

Let me be super clear, here: These are VERY common problems, but they are never normal and we have real solutions for you.

If that just made you sit a little higher, or feel like there’s hope, then you’re reading this for a reason. You do not have to keep living like all of that is normal. You have enough to worry about.

My team and I can help take care of the rest.

Call/text 206-535-7356 or email schedule@elizabethrogerspt.com to schedule time with our team to address the physical changes you’ve noticed with pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and aging.

And remember, that pelvic pain or leakage is VERY common, but never normal!
